“Let it be.”

July 7, 2014 by Christina

let it beLet. It. Be.

Three simple words that convey one of the most powerful messages out there.

We all have goals and dreams.  Strengths and weaknesses.  Good days and bad days.  Decisions that we are proud of and those that we regret.  Attributes that we personally like and dislike about ourselves.  Things that we understand and others that confuse us to no end.  Many of these things, along with our attitudes towards each of them, shape who we are as individuals.

Especially for those of us who tend to think deeply and take everything to heart, it can be difficult to push all of our worries aside.  But, sometimes, we have to simply stop our raging train of thought in its tracks, take a deep breath, and move on. Over-thinking and stressing over our troubles will not help us to overcome them, nor will it reverse events of the past.

One of the most valuable (and challenging) lessons I have learned from my loved ones is to accept the things I cannot change, and have faith in the promise of the many wonderful things that the future will bring.  We must learn to accept the obstacles that life throws at us, and embrace the positive side to each and every one of them.  In order to be the greatest versions of ourselves, we must let it be.
