5-Ingredient Flourless Banana Brownies

May 7, 2026 by Christina Leave a Comment

If you are looking for a way to use up those ripe bananas sitting on your countertop, look no further! While these brownies are by no means meant to mimic or replace classic brownies, this easy 5-ingredient recipe results in a sweet, fudgy, and nutrient-rich snack.

This simple batter can be mixed quickly in one bowl, and baked in one pan for easy cleanup. The recipe is also versatile, as you can use any variety of nut or seed butter you prefer. My personal favorites at the moment vary between peanut butter, sunflower seed butter, and cashew butter!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup very ripe mashed bananas from 2 large or 3 medium bananas
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter or nut/seed butter of choice
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa or cacao powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2-1 cup semisweet chocolate chips optional

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Stir together the mashed banana, nut/seed butter, cocoa, and vanilla in a large bowl, until smooth. Stir in the chocolate chips, if desired.
  • Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan and bake for 20-22 minutes, until the top is slightly firm when touched. Allow to cool for 10-15 minutes in the pan, then gently lift by the parchment paper sides to remove and place onto a wire rack to cool completely before slicing. Enjoy!
